It is hard to believe that this school year is over as it has truly been my privilege to teach your child during this past school year. Your child has become one of my children and I will really miss them! I have enjoyed all the hugs, smiles and kind words your child has shared with me. In the last few weeks of school many of the students wrote me personal notes and my homeroom class signed a large card for me.
Thank you for getting your child up early and getting them to school each day rain or shine! I appreciate your taking the time to read my newsletters and sign all the notes and forms that have come home. I also want to give a shout out to all the volunteers that have supported our classroom events. You are what makes it all come together.
Thank you so much for all my gifts – and I will enjoy the generous class gift you gave to me over this summer.
It’s been such a pleasure watching the students grow and learn this year and I truly will keep their smiles in my heart forever. Your children are precious and these are the best of times!
On the last day of school I asked the students to do three things to get ready for 4th grade:
1. Read every day.
2. Practice multiplication facts on Multiplication.com.
3. Have Fun!
Next year I will be teaching 2nd grade down the hall in Room B169. I told all the students to come by and say hello next year!
I wish you all a wonderful and well-deserved summer break that will refresh us for the coming school year. It is a great time to relax and unwind.
Have a great summer!
Sincerely,
Barbra Mitchell
